Savage Cam Chain Tensioner

After listening to the folks on suzukisavage.com talk about the dangers of a broken cam chain tensioner, I thought I had better pop the clutch cover on my '02 with 22,000 miles and see what mine looked like.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it is time to replace the cam chain. My tensioner plunger has 20.8mm showing from the body to the bevel and there is a slight cock to the plunger relative to the body indicating that it's nearing the end of its travel.

So how close was I to a disaster? Not as close as others have been.

Why not try Pegasus Email? It's been around since the
late 80's, it works and it's safe. Pegasus will never do
anything stupid by default but it will give you the choice
if you ever need it. Good stuff, Maynard!
